Raj Mahal, Mulund East started as a humble street cart, serving hot, fresh South Indian snacks with love and care. Through years of dedication, early mornings, and the trust of loyal customers, it grew into a beloved local eatery near Hanuman Chowk. Every dosa, idli, and vada still carries that same homemade taste and warmth. What began on a roadside now welcomes families, students, and workers seeking affordable, flavorful meals. Raj Mahal is a story of hard work, community, and Mumbai’s spirit—where simple food, served with heart, built a lasting legacy.

OUR STORY

From Street‑Cart Dreams to Raj Mahal in Mulund East

In the vibrant lanes of Mulund East, on LT Road near Hanuman Chowk, the journey of Raj Mahal began—not with a bright storefront, but a modest street‑side pushcart. Here, our founder—a spirited local—set up early each morning, serving South Indian dosas, vadas, idlis, chutneys and classic street‑food favorites. Under the warm glow of a single lamp and amid the crowd of commuters and locals, humble beginnings led to unforgettable tastes.

✨ The Early Warmth of Street-Style Flavor

Quality was not just a promise—it was an obsession. The water for the chutneys came from trusted sources, the batter was made fresh, and each dosa was crisped to golden perfection. Even in the smallest portions, warmth, authenticity, and care were evident. Word spread fast: “Raj Mahal’s dosas feel like home.” Over time, queues formed—not only for the food, but for the sense of belonging, community, and shared joy.

🏗️ The Leap from Cart to Store

With loyal customers, growing savings, and endless dreams, Raj Mahal made a milestone move—opening the permanent outlet at Shop 2/3, Shanti Sadan, LT Road, the very spot where the cart used to stand. What was once a makeshift stall was reborn as a welcoming vegetarian eatery offering South Indian & street‑food, still with standing tables and the same budget‑friendly pricing (~₹200 for two) from its early days.

❤️ Heartbeat of Hard Work and Community

Early mornings and late nights: Batter prepared at dawn, dishes perfected by nightfall—every spice balanced precisely.

A family of helpers: The small team began as kitchen assistants; today, many remain part of the Raj Mahal family—some now mentor juniors, others greet customers like long-lost friends.

Unwavering care: Even during monsoon floods or power cuts, the stall powered on—because customers weren't just patrons—they were part of our journey.

🍽️ The Raj Mahal Experience Today

Consistent quality: Fresh dosa every time, soft idlis, crispy medu vadas, spicy chutneys, fluffy uttapams.

Vegetarian simplicity: No frills, no exotic gimmicks—only classic, clean flavors made with love.

Affordable delight: Meals remain economical, just as they were at the cart—still ₹200–₹300 for two.

Street‑food soul in a shop setting: Standing tables, friendly faces, and that unmistakable aroma of South-Indian treats.

🌱 Growth Anchored in Tradition

Raj Mahal hasn't become a chain—but its reputation across Mulund East is rooted in authenticity, not hype. Social media and food bloggers note its old-school charm and delicious value. Reviews highlight the dosas, chutneys, and the warmth that never fades, despite its simple décor.
